Facts and figures on over 180 years of company history
The first three and a half decades of the company's history were characterized by steam navigation on the Rhine and an increase in Rhine-sea navigation.
This period was characterized by the takeover of various shipping agencies with connections to the seaports on the North and Baltic Seas, the founding of the Neuss branch and the beginnings as a trade fair forwarder.
The former forwarding and shipping company developed into a universal company for the shipping industry and organized transports by ship, rail, motor vehicle or plane.
Further branch establishments and the expansion of freight forwarding services to include nationwide and European system transports in a partner network characterize the development to this day.
In 2016, Oliver Rüter, the fourth generation of the CretschmarCargo family, spun off L.W. Cretschmar Süd GmbH & Co KG to strengthen the company's activities in Spain, which have been ongoing since 1968.
