Düsseldorf/Madrid, 06 October 2025 – L.W. Cretschmar Española S. A., a subsidiary of the German freight forwarder L.W. Cretschmar Süd, is entering into a strategic cooperation with the logistics service provider Ontime Corporate Union S. A. from Madrid. The aim is to connect Ontime’s national networks in Spain, Portugal, and Morocco with Cretschmar’s European network. Cretschmar Española is a founding member of System Alliance Europe (SAE) and thus part of the leading European cooperation for international groupage transport.
The development of this cooperation will create one of the largest groupage and freight transport networks on the Iberian Peninsula and in Morocco. While Spain, Portugal, and Morocco will position themselves as strategic gateways for goods traffic with Europe, Germany, as the leading EU country, will assume the role of central hub for Northern and Eastern Europe in the future.
The cooperation between Cretschmar and Ontime enables closer integration in transport and logistics processes across national borders. This facilitates end-to-end digital processes, resulting in a smooth logistics chain. Previously unavailable synergies are generated and resources are consistently saved.
The cooperation will enable both companies to plan shipments more efficiently and exchange data in real time, reduce interfaces, avoid empty runs, and coordinate processes in the supply chain much more dynamically. Both existing and new customers will benefit from shorter production times, increased transparency, and greater planning reliability in European supply chain management.
L.W. Cretschmar Süd remains independent with its cooperation with ontime. From its German headquarters, the freight forwarder is developing into the leading provider of B2B transport with a focus on finished goods and chemicals to the Iberian Peninsula and Morocco. “The combination of the strengths of the partners in this cooperation – Ontime and Cretschmar Cargo – will lay the foundation for a powerful network with local depth, European breadth, and digital excellence,” emphasizes Oliver Rüter, owner of L.W.
